University of Swat Observes Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir with Seminar and Solidarity Walk
The University of Swat observed Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir through a programme jointly organized by the Office of the Provost and the Department of Pakistan Studies. The event aimed to promote academic awareness and informed dialogue on the historical, constitutional, and political dimensions of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
The programme commenced with a seminar focusing on the constitutional and political implications of the revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A of the Constitution of India, following the unilateral decision of the Government of India on 5 August 2019 to revoke the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The seminar was addressed by Dr. Sarfaraz and Mr. Zahid Nasir, who delivered insightful presentations on the historical background, legal aspects, and regional implications of the developments in Jammu and Kashmir. The speakers emphasized the importance of understanding the issue through scholarly discussion and informed analysis.
The programme concluded with a solidarity walk, in which faculty members, students, officers, and staff participated to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting awareness of the significance of Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir and the importance of peaceful dialogue, justice, and respect for human dignity.
