University of Swat Launches Seven-Day Training Program on Climate-Resilient Agriculture
Swat, July 27, 2026: The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Swat, organized a seven-day specialized training program on “Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture: Remote Sensing for Sustainable Water Management and Drought Monitoring.” The training will run from July 27 to August 2, 2026.
The training program has been organized exclusively for the students of the Department of Environmental Sciences with the objective of enhancing their knowledge and practical skills in the application of remote sensing technologies for climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable water resource management, and drought monitoring.
The training sessions are being conducted by renowned resource persons Prof. Songhao Shang and Dr. Khalil ur Rahman. They shared their expertise in remote sensing and geospatial technologies.
The organizers highlighted that the initiative reflects the University of Swat’s commitment to promoting research excellence, innovation, and capacity building in the field of environmental sciences. By equipping students with advanced scientific tools and techniques, the University aims to prepare future environmental professionals to effectively address the growing challenges of climate change, water scarcity, and drought.
