









University of Swat Concludes Seven-Day Training Program on Climate-Resilient Agriculture
The seven-day specialized training program titled “Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture: Remote Sensing for Sustainable Water Management and Drought Monitoring” successfully concluded at the University of Swat. The training was organized by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences.
The concluding ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Vice Chancellor, University of Swat, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Fazal Mabood, Dean, Dr. Wajid Rashid, Department of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Anwar Hussain, Director ORIC, and Mr. Iftikhar Alam, Assistant Director Liaison, were also present on the occasion.
The seven-day training, held from July 27 to August 2, 2026, was specifically designed for students of the Department of Environmental Sciences to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in the application of remote sensing and geospatial technologies for climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable water resource management, and drought monitoring.
During the concluding ceremony, Dr. Anwar Hussain, Director ORIC, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Khalil ur Rahman, the resource person, for dedicating his valuable time and providing students with practical demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities. He appreciated the efforts of the resource persons and the Department of Environmental Sciences for making the training program successful.
The participants actively engaged in the training sessions and benefited from both theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations related to remote sensing and its applications in addressing emerging challenges in agriculture and environmental management.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates were distributed among the participating students in recognition of their successful completion of the seven-day training program.
