The Department of Tourism and Hospitality, University of Swat, successfully organized an Information Session on Employment Opportunities and Foreign University Applications in collaboration with Mosafir.pk at the University Theatre Hall. The session was followed by structured one-to-one counselling sessions at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, enabling students to receive individualized academic and career guidance.
The event was facilitated and supported by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Honorable Vice Chancellor, and the Prof. Dr. Anwar Hussain, Director, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Swat, underscoring the University’s continued commitment to strengthening industry–academia collaboration and expanding access to international educational and professional pathways for students.
The Department of Tourism and Hospitality, headed by Dr. Aatif Iqbal, played a central role in the planning and execution of the event. Faculty members Dr. Asad Jalal, Mr. Zahoor Shah, and Mr. Kashif contributed actively to the successful coordination and facilitation of the session. Dr. Farooq Nawaz, Head, Department of Pashto and Urdu, also coordinated and facilitated for the said event.
The session featured expert representatives from Mosafir.pk, including Mr. Shafiq ur Rehman (Senior Manager HR), Mr. Shayan Abdullah (Student Counsellor Executive), Ms. Kainaat Umer (Student Counsellor Executive), and Ms. Atika Zubair (Visa Specialist). The team delivered a comprehensive briefing on employment prospects within the tourism and hospitality sector, international university admissions, scholarship opportunities, visa application procedures, and emerging global career trends.
A key component of the engagement included focused discussions on job opportunities and internship interview pathways, through which students were guided on industry expectations, application protocols, and essential professional competencies required for successful entry into the sector. This provided participants with practical exposure to recruitment processes and career development frameworks.
Students were also introduced to Mosafir.pk, a leading travel technology platform operating under the leadership of Mr. Fakhr-e-Alam, Chief Operating Officer (COO), offering integrated solutions in travel facilitation, tourism services, and visa consultancy.
