The 9th meeting of the Senate

The 9th meeting of the Senate University of Swat was held today at the Governor’s Secretariat Peshawar. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Meena Khan, Pro-Chancellor and Minister for Higher Education, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The main agenda item of the meeting was the budget of the University of Swat for the financial year 2024-25. The Senate unanimously approved the proposed budget, which reflects the university’s commitment to maintaining financial stability while enhancing academic and infrastructural development.
The chair appreciated the financial management led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, and his team. The Pro-Chancellor particularly commended the austerity measures adopted at the University of Swat, which have been instrumental in optimizing resource allocation and expenditure.
Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor, University of Swat informed the Senate about his ongoing efforts to secure additional funding for the university from various sources, including Provincial and Federal Governments. These efforts are aimed at ensuring the financial sustainability of the university and supporting its growth initiatives.
The Chair praised the Vice Chancellor’s efforts in significantly increasing student enrolment during his tenure. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, the University of Swat has become the largest university in the region based on the number of students, reflecting its growing reputation and academic appeal.
The Honourable Minister assured of continued support for the University of Swat, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the future of thousands of students enrolled at the institution. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing the necessary resources and support to ensure the university’s continued success and growth.
