4th Meeting of the Board of Studies, Department of Social and Gender Studies (DS&GS), University of Swat held on July 29, 2024
Under the Convenorship of Dr. Imran, Assistant Professor of Sociology and In-Charge, Department of Social and Gender Studies (DS&GS), University of Swat, the 4th Meeting of the Board of Studies was held in the Committee Room, Administration Block, Main Campus, Charbagh, University of Swat. The Board made recommendations for onward process at the university statutory bodies regarding different agenda items including the Revised Scheme of Studies for BS (4 Years) Degree Program in Sociology (in light of the HEC Undergraduate Education Policy-2023), Teaching of the Holy Quran with Translation, Tafseer & Tajweed (Para Number 1-30), Launching of M. Phil. and Ph.D. Program in Criminology and its Scheme of Studies (in light of the Syndicate decision), Revised Eligibility Criteria (in light of the HEC, Graduate Education Policy-2023), Revised Scheme of Studies for M.Phil and PhD Programs in Sociology, List of External Examiners for Thesis Evaluation of M.Phil and Ph.D. in Sociology, and Proposed New Name of the Department as ‘Department of Sociology and Criminology’ respectively.
Besides, Prof. Dr. Arab Naz (Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Malakand), Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah (Director, School of Sociology, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad), Dr. Arshad Khan Bangash (Associate Professor of Sociology, Department of Sociology and Political Science, Bacha Khan University Charsadda), Dr. Nasir Ahmad (Associate Professor, Centre for Education, Staff Training and Education, University of Swat), Dr. Owais Ahmad (Assistant Professor of Sociology, Department of Sociology, University of Peshawar), Dr. Ihsan Ullah (Assistant Professor of Sociology, DS&GS, UoS), Dr. Muhammad Asghar Khan (Lecturer in Sociology, DS&GS, UoS) were in attendance. Dr. Imran expressed his gratitude to the Hon. Vice Chancellor, University of Swat (Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, SAARC Gold Medalist) for his continuous support and commitment to uplift the academic endeavors at the University of Swat. Dr. Imran thanked all board members for their productive input during the Board of Studies meeting.
