University of Swat Holds HEC Need-Based Scholarship Award Distribution Ceremony
The Office of the University Advancement and the Financial Aid Office, University of Swat, organized the HEC Need-Based Scholarship Award Distribution Ceremony on August 20, 2026, at the Theater Hall, Main Campus, University of Swat, where Rs. 6.53 million in HEC Need-Based Scholarships were awarded to 66 deserving students. The HEC Need-Based Scholarship Program is designed to support students facing financial constraints in pursuing higher education.
The ceremony was graced by Hon. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Mr. Fazal Hakim (MPA), Mr. Akhtar Khan Advocate (MPA & Chairman DDAC), Prof. Dr. Umar Hayat (Director, University Advancement and Financial Aid Office), Registrar Mr. Arshad Ali Khan, Director P&D Mr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hussain (Dean, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences), Prof. Dr. Najeeb Ur Rahman (Dean, Faculty of Chemical Sciences), along with Heads, faculty members, and students from various academic units.
The proceedings of the ceremony were conducted by Dr. Imran, Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of Social and Gender Studies at the University of Swat. Prof. Dr. Umar Hayat presented an overview of the HEC Need-Based Scholarship Program, highlighting its role in enabling deserving students to continue their education despite financial challenges.
Addressing the students, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the scholarship recipients and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to expanding scholarship opportunities through diverse funding sources. He also expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests for joining the ceremony and encouraging the students.
Mr. Akhtar Khan Advocate highlighted the importance of merit, institutional reforms, and collective efforts to uplift society, particularly its youth. Mr. Fazal Hakim described the occasion as a proud moment, noting that the scholarships recognize students’ academic efforts and provide them with greater opportunities to pursue their educational goals.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the distinguished guests by the Hon. Vice Chancellor, followed by a group photograph.
