University of Swat Hosts Chairman PMYP for Youth Consultation Program
The University of Swat proudly hosted a landmark session today as part of the national initiative for the formulation of Pakistan’s first-ever National Adolescent and Youth Policy (NAYP). The event was organized under the leadership of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
The distinguished Chief Guest, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman PMYP, was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor, University of Swat, who served as the host of the program.
Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude to PMYP for choosing University of Swat as a venue for this significant engagement and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to advancing youth development in the region.
In his address, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan emphasized the vital role of young people in shaping the country’s future and highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring youth voices are at the center of policymaking.
The session brought together students, faculty, and stakeholders for a series of Consultation Sessions and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), designed to capture the aspirations, concerns, and innovative ideas of Pakistan’s youth. Participants also engaged with key initiatives such as the Digital Youth Hub, aimed at connecting young people to digital resources and opportunities.
The PMYP team, in collaboration with the HEC and university staff, ensured active participation and meaningful dialogue throughout the day. The insights collected during the session will contribute directly to the development of the National Adolescent and Youth Policy, marking a historic step towards inclusive and youth-centered governance in Pakistan.
