University of Swat and Foundation University Islamabad Forge Strategic Academic Partnership
The University of Swat (UOS) and Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic excellence, research collaboration, and professional development in a wide array of disciplines, especially Allied Health Sciences, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Media & Communication Studies, English Language & Literature, Psychology, Management Sciences, and Social Sciences.
This agreement sets the stage for an extensive collaboration at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, aiming to leverage mutual expertise and foster impactful academic and research initiatives.
Key areas of cooperation include:
• Joint research projects and funding efforts in the disciplines of Allied Health Sciences.
• Co-supervision, evaluation, and external examination of MS/MPhil and PhD scholars.
• Faculty development through skills workshops and discounted access to training programs.
• Collaboration in organizing industrial job fairs and Open-House events to expand opportunities for students and faculty.
• Integration of sustainable development practices and promotion of SDGs in joint activities.
Both the universities designated focal persons and exchange expertise lists to ensure effective implementation of the MoU. This five-year agreement reflects a shared vision to enhance the quality of higher education and research while creating synergies between the two institutions.
Vice-Chancellors of both universities (Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher and Major General (Rtd) Muhammad Kaleem Asif) expressed their commitment to nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence. Vice Chancellor University of Swat also thanked other members of the visiting team including Prof. Dr. Amir Gulzar Registrar, Mr. Mazhar Ul Haq, A/GM Finance and Mr. Amir Sajjad Khan, Manager International Office FUI. This partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan’s higher education sector.
