Engr. Amir Muqam, Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), graced the Prime Minister’s Laptop Distribution Ceremony as Chief Guest at the University of Swat today. The event was hosted by Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor, University of Swat.
The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, implemented through the Higher Education Commission (HEC), is a flagship initiative aimed at empowering meritorious students by providing them access to modern technology. The scheme supports digital learning, research, innovation, and freelancing opportunities, enabling students to compete at national and global levels. Distribution of laptops at the University of Swat reflects the government’s continued commitment to youth development and knowledge-based growth.
On the same occasion, the Chief Guest also inaugurated the newly constructed Women Campus of the University of Swat, a major development project funded by Federal Government through HEC at the cost of Rs. 1300 million. This state-of-the-art facility will significantly enhance women’s access to quality higher education and strengthen academic infrastructure in the region.
The ceremony marked a milestone in advancing education, digital inclusion, and women empowerment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
