



On the directive of the Hon. Vice Chancellor (Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, SAARC Gold Medalist), the University of Swat in collaboration with Rescue 1122, District Police Elite Force Swat, and Civil Defense Office Swat, conducted an awareness session and a comprehensive joint mock-drill exercise on May 13, 2025, at the Main Campus, Charbagh.
These proactive measures aimed to strengthen campus preparedness and institutional resilience in the face of potential emergencies and evolving security challenges. The event began with awareness sessions led by expert representatives from Rescue 1122 and Civil Defense Swat, focusing on emergency evacuation procedures, fire safety, first aid, and coordinated disaster response. Students, faculty, and administrative staff actively engaged in these sessions, gaining vital knowledge and practical insights.
The awareness sessions were followed by a full-scale mock drill exercise, simulating various emergency scenarios. Personnel from Rescue 1122, Elite Force Swat, and Civil Defense Swat performed these exercises with commendable efficiency and professionalism.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Attaullah Shams (SP Headquarters, Saidu Sharif, Swat), Mr. Inam Ul Haq (Civil Defense Officer, Swat), Dr. Imran (Assistant Professor and Deputy Director Administration, University of Swat), officials from Rescue 1122 Swat emphasized the mock drill’s significance in light of the prevailing geopolitical situation. The university administration acknowledged the support of local emergency services and security forces in ensuring the safety and preparedness of the university community. The University of Swat remains committed to safeguarding its students, faculty, and staff through regular preparedness initiatives and will continue to work closely with relevant authorities to uphold a secure academic environment.
