University of Swat Hosts Successful Four-Week Training Program for faculty
The University of Swat, in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, concluded a four-week National Outreach Program for Higher Education Faculty (Tier-I) with high zeal and enthusiasm. The program aimed to enhance the professional skills of early-career faculty members from public sector universities across Pakistan, focusing on teaching and learning, applied research, and professional practices. A total of 32 participants, including 24 Assistant Professors and 8 Lecturers, successfully completed the training, demonstrating their commitment to advancing higher education in the country. The program’s Closing Ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, Executive Director of the HEC, who commended the initiative and its impact on faculty development.
During the ceremony, the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, Executive Director Higher Education Commission and former Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University and University of Gujrat, praised the Vice Chancellor of the University of Swat, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, for his visionary leadership and dedication to fostering academic excellence in the region. He remarked that “Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher’s commitment to empowering faculty and promoting a culture of continuous learning is exemplary. The successful hosting of this program reflects the University of Swat’s pivotal role in shaping the future of higher education in Pakistan,”. Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum also highlighted the significance of such initiatives in bridging knowledge gaps and strengthening the academic landscape in the country.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher extended heartfelt gratitude to key individuals who played instrumental roles in the program’s success. He acknowledged Dr. Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of NAHE, for her unwavering support and vision in making this initiative a reality. Special thanks were also extended to Mr. Suleman, Director of NAHE, and Mr. Nasar Shah, Regional Director of HEC Peshawar, for their valuable guidance and assistance throughout the training. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Hazrat Bilal, the Focal Person for NAHE at the University of Swat, was lauded for his exceptional coordination and dedication. Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher reaffirmed the University of Swat’s commitment to advancing faculty development and expressed optimism about future collaborations with NAHE and HEC to enhance educational standards nationwide.
