Opening Ceremony
University of Swat proudly inaugurated its much-anticipated Sports Festival 2024, held from November 25th to 29th. This five-day event brought together the vibrant energy of 34 departments, each competing with zeal in various sporting events, including cricket, volleyball, tug-of-war, futsal, badminton, and athletics.
A Thrilling Start to the Festival
The festival began with an exciting opening ceremony, graced by the presence of Brigadier Aamir Jamal as the Chief Guest and the Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University of Swat. Both dignitaries commended the university’s commitment to fostering sportsmanship and holistic development among students.
The inaugural day featured three exhilarating matches:
Cricket: The Department of Law triumphed over the Department of Forestry in a closely contested game.
Volleyball: The Department of IT showcased remarkable teamwork, defeating the Department of English.
Tug-of-War: The Department of IT once again demonstrated their strength, securing a victory against the Department of Sociology.
The thrilling performances on the first day set the tone for the rest of the festival, igniting enthusiasm among players and spectators alike.
Recognition and Encouragement
At the conclusion of the inaugural matches, the Chief Guests distributed trophies to the winners and runners-up, celebrating their achievements. Both Brigadier Aamir Jamal and the Vice Chancellor praised the players for their dedication and sportsmanship, while also acknowledging the tireless efforts of the organizing committee.
In his concluding remarks, Brigadier Aamir Jamal highlighted the crucial role sports play in shaping students’ physical and mental well-being. He emphasized that such events are integral to nurturing discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities among youth.
University of Swat Hosts Inter-Department Sports Festival 2024
University of Swat Directorate of Sports is organizing an Inter-Department Sports Festival from November 25th to December 5th, 2024. The event aims to promote extracurricular activities, teamwork, and healthy competition among students.
The festival will feature six sports categories: Cricket, Futsal, Volleyball, Badminton, Tug of War, and Athletics. Students from all departments are encouraged to participate.
