
Press release: Prime Minister’s Acknowledgement Letter Awarding Ceremony organized by GYM Club and YDC, University of Swat
The Prime Minister’s Acknowledgement Letter Awarding Ceremony was held at the University of Swat, organized by the Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club and Youth Development Centre (YDC) at the university. The event was graced by the worthy Vice Chancellor (Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, SAARC Gold Medalist), faculty members, and students of different academic units of the University of Swat.
The event started with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Tanzeela Abdul Qayyum (student of BS Sociology, 7th semester, Department of Social and Gender Studies, UoS). The Focal Person of YDC Dr. Imran (Assistant Professor of Sociology / Head, Department of Social and Gender Studies, UoS) in his welcome remarks welcomed the Chief Guest and briefed the audience about the theme of the event. The Focal Person, GYM Club (Dr. Sher Shah, Lecturer, Institute of Forest Sciences, UoS) highlighted the activities carried out by the GYM club in collaboration with the YDC, UoS.
A total of 170 Prime Minister’s Acknowledgement Letters were awarded to GYM club members wherein, 105 were male students and 65 were female students. students were awarded Prime Minister’s Acknowledgement Letters for their achievements, a testament to their hard work and commitment to the initiative of Clean and Green Pakistan. Besides, the Prime Minister’s Acknowledgement Letters were also awarded to the GYM Oversight Committee (Dr. Sher Shah, Focal Person, Dr. Imran, Member, and Dr. Shazia, Member of the committee).
In his keynote speech, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Swat, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, lauded the efforts of the Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club and Youth Development Centre (YDC) for organizing the ceremony and creating platforms for student engagement. He emphasized the significance of youth in shaping the future of the nation and encouraged students to continue contributing toward national development with their skills and ideas and to become responsible global citizens.
The awardees expressed gratitude for the recognition and affirmed their resolve to continue their efforts in making meaningful contributions to their communities and the nation at large.
