MONSOON PLANTATION DRIVE 2024, UNIVERSITY OF SWAT
Monsoon Plantation Drive 2024 was organized by the University of Swat in collaboration with the District Administration Swat and Forest Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the Main Campus, Charbagh, University of Swat wherein, the local NGO (LASOONA) and community members also participated in the drive.
The Hon. Vice Chancellor, University of Swat (Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, SAARC Gold Medalist) was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. The event was attended by the faculty, staff, and guests including Mr. Imtiaz Ali (Registrar, UoS), Prof. Dr. Hazrat Bilal (Director Administration, UoS), Dr. Arshad Ali Khan (Controller of Examinations, UoS), Dr. Imran (Focal Person, Youth Development Centre, University of Swat), Dr. Naveed Alam (In-Charge, Institute of Forest Sciences, UoS), Dr. Sher Shah (Focal Person, Green Youth Movement Club, UoS), Mr. Muhammad Yaar (Assistant Commissioner, Charbagh, Mr. Anwar Saadat (Tehsil Municipal Administration Officer, Charbagh) and, Sub Divisional Forest Officer, Mr. Arif Khan (representative of the LASOONA NGO).
Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher added that the University of Swat will plant about 1000 saplings in the monsoon drive. The University of Swat is committed to working with the District Administration and Forest Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to plant a maximum number of trees to increase the forest area which will add to achieving the milestone of the Clean and Green Pakistan.
