Kashmir Black Day

Upon the directives of the Hon. Vice Chancellor, University of Swat (Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher), the Society for the Promotion of Social Sciences, Social Welfare and Awareness (SPSS, SW&A), University of Swat organized a Seminar and Protest Walk on the eve of observing Kashmir Black Day (October 27) to demonstrate solidarity with the Kashmiri people and to draw attention to the atrocities of being committed by the Indian occupation forces in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The heads of different academic and administrative units, faculty, and students were in attendance.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor of the University of Swat, stated that the University of Swat stands in solidarity with the people of Kashmir and with conscience-driven voices across the globe on this solemn day, calling for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute that respects the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Awareness and education can create pathways toward harmony and understanding, he added.
Mr. Zahid Nasir, (Lecturer in Pakistan Studies at the University of Swat) was the resource person of the seminar. Mr. Zahid shed light on the historical background, the present state of affairs in the area, and the significance of resolving the Kashmir dispute.
The event organizer Dr. Imran (Assistant Professor of Sociology, and In-Charge, Department of Social and Gender Studies, University of Swat) thanked the Hon. Vice Chancellor and other participants for participating in the seminar and protest walk.
