Message from the Vice-Chancellor
It is my great privilege to address our stakeholders, faculty, and students on the strategic role of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC). Our motto—Aspiring for Quality Education with Relevance—is more critical now than ever, as we commit to strengthening our position within the HEC’s framework. The University of Swat must serve as a central hub for generating knowledge that directly impacts the socio-economic development of the Swat Valley and the wider region. Our ORIC is the engine for this purpose. We fully endorse its mandate, which is sharply focused on enhancing Research Excellence and significantly improving Innovation & Commercialization. I task our entire academic community to engage proactively with the new ORIC team, leverage the updated tools and policies, and forge strong partnerships with industry and government. By applying our research towards practical solutions, we will collectively uphold our guiding principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline and elevate the University of Swat to an exemplary stage of sustainable academic excellence.

Director’s Message
It is my distinct honor to lead the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at the University of Swat during this pivotal period of transformation. Our recent HEC scorecard evaluation confirms the need for decisive action, particularly in the vital areas of Research Excellence and Innovation & Commercialization. That is a challenge we embrace. The ORIC has been comprehensively restructured to align with the HEC’s four key domains, with a new team dedicated to supporting you. Our immediate strategic goal is to foster a research culture that is not only ethical and high-quality but also applied and economically impactful in the
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. We have launched new tools, including the Pre-Award Toolkit and the ‘Propose a Collaboration’ form, to make funding acquisition and industry engagement seamless. I urge every faculty member, researcher, and industry partner to utilize these resources as we collectively commit to moving UoS into
the next category of HEC performance.
