The Directorate of QEC in partnership with ORIC and Faculty of Management and Social Sciences in collaboration with Akhuwaat Islamic Microfinance Institution, organized a One day Briefing Session on Collaborative Research, Internship and Externship Opportunities at Akuhwaat MFI on 30 October, 2025. The aim of the session was to create mutually beneficial research opportunities by involving graduate and undergraduate level students of university of Swat to analyze the impact of and evaluate projects undertaken by Akhuwaat Islamic Micro Finance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The KPK province is especially challenging for conduct of research at graduate levels due to data poverty in terms of access to reliable data as well as there is dearth of students’ placement in structured internships and externships. This collaborative session highlighted the active and completed projects of Akhuwaat Foundation, the data and support availability to students, researchers and faculty members. Mr. Chaudry Arshad Mehmood was the guest speaker on the occasion who gave a detailed overview of origin, network, schemes and opportunities available for students of university of Swat. The graduate level students of various departments and faculty members showed keen interest in this interactive session which was organized in consonance with meeting the requirements of Graduate and UG education policy of HEC. The Director QEC. Dr. Muhammad Tariq thanked the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Hassan Sher and Professors of Economics, Psychology, Management, Mathematics and Chemistry Departments for attending the session and active interaction. It is hoped that this session will serve as stepping stone for further collaborative activities with corporate sector in order to bride the industry and academia gaps.

QEC University of Swat organized Training on Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement today on 27^th February, 2025.

As part of the New Quality Assurance framework PSG-2023 of Higher Education Commission, the QEC office University of Swat organized a One-day, capacity building Training program on 27^th February, 2025. The training comprised of two sessions on Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) for Program Team members (PTs) of 05 piloted departments including Economics, Sociology, Botany, Mathematics, Islamic & Arabic Studies and QEC Focal Persons of Affiliated colleges. Dr. Nauman Habib, Head QEC, Pak Austria Fachhochschule, Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, Haripur was the external expert resource person for the one-day training. The Director QEC, Dr. Muhammad Tariq and his team comprising of deputy director Dr. Zahid Ulah, Dr. Imran and Dr. Amir Khan thanked the participants from affiliated colleges and resource person on behalf of Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr. Hassan Sher and distributed certificates to participants and university shield to guest speaker.

The Director QEC, Dr. Muhammad Tariq prepared an interactive presentation and presented it before the Deans, Directors, registrar, Controller of Examination, Faculty and Administrative heads of the University of Swat. The interactive session was organized as per the directives of Vice chancellor, University of Swat in the light of HEC-QAA instructions to spread awareness regarding the Graduate education Policy, 2023 effective from 10th July 2023 onward. The Director QEC gave a head to tail overview of the GEP-2023 highlighting key terms and concepts regarding retroactive application, force majeure, teacher-student ratio, supervisory processes, graduate degree related publication requirements as well as the concept of retributive justice and grievance management system for university scholars. The participants will not hold cascading sessions with their concerned staff, faculty members and students of graduate degree programs to ensure commitment to HEC-QAA policies.

GEP2023-Interactive Session

One day Training Program organized by QEC for faculty members and Sub Campuses on 20th May, 2024.

The theme of training was “Embracing Change: Exploring the Link Between Quality Culture and the Revised PSG-2023 Framework” with Lt Cdr ® Dr. Mahmood Khan, Director QEC, Hazara University Mansehra and Dr. Aurangzeb Deputy Director QEC HU, Mansehra as external resource persons. The Vice Chancellor, University of Swat Professor Dr. Hassan Sher was the Chief Guest on the occasion who distributed shields of appreciation and certificates of participation among the resource persons and participants of the training workshop. The Vice Chancellor, appreciated the efforts of Directorate of Quality Enhancement Cell for arranging a useful seminar for the faculty and staff members of the university of Swat and sub campuses. He also thanked the resource persons for their time and knowledge sharing and urge for more collaborative endeavours at QEC levels in future between university of Swat and University of Hazara, Mansehra.
