The Ombudsman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter in collaboration with the Society for the Promotion of Social Sciences, Social Welfare and Awareness (SPSSSW&A), University of Swat organized an Awareness Session Awareness Session on the Role of Ombudsman (Muhtasib) in Provision of Speedy and Free of Cost Justice. The event was held on August 08, 2023 at Main Campus, University of Swat.
Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher (Vice Chancellor, University of Swat), Mr. Salahuddin (Secretary, Ombudsman), Mr. Syed Jamal Uddin Shah (Hon. Ombudsman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter), Director General Ombudsman, Registrar Ombudsman, other officials of the Ombudsman Peshawar and Regional Office at Swat, Mr. Imtiaz Ali (Registrar, UoS), Mr. Fayyaz Ahmad Khan (Treasurer, UoS), Mr. Fida Hussain (Provost, UoS), Mr. Sagheer Ahmad (Deputy Provost), organizer of the event Dr. Imran (In-Charge, Department of Social and Gender Studies, UoS), representatives of line departments, students and faculty members of the different academic units were in attendance. Prior to the awareness session, the guests inaugurated the Ombudsman Regional Office at Swat.
Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher welcomed the distinguished guests and participants and expressed that University of Swat is striving its best to facilitate its students, faculty and staff in terms of a conducive and healthy academic and working environment which is evident from the current scenario wherein all academic units of the university have been shifted from the rented buildings to its own building at Charbagh. He stressed on the role of teachers and parents in socializing the students in a manner to contribute to society as productive citizens. Talking on the occasion, Mr. Salahuddin thanked the Hon. Vice Chancellor for providing such a quality academic environment. He briefed the participants about the role of Ombudsman in provision of justice to the masses. Mr. Syed Jamal Uddin also shed light on the various functions of the Ombudsman. He urged that students are the effective stakeholders in spreading the awareness reading the Ombudsman.
At the end from the Ombudsman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter side Mr. Salahuddin and Mr. Syed Jamal Uddin Shah presented souvenirs to the Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Mr. Imtiaz Ali, Mr. Fida Hussain, and Dr. Imran. Besides, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher presented a shield to Mr. Syed Jamal Uddin Shah.
