Press Release: Youm-e-Takbeer (May 28) Celebrated at the University of Swat.
Upon the directives of the Hon. Vice Chancellor, University of Swat (Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, SAARC Gold Medalist), the Society for the Promotion of Social Sciences, Social Welfare and Awareness, University of Swat has organized a Seminar and Awareness Walk on the eve of observing Youm-e-Takbeer (May 28), commemorating Pakistan’s historic nuclear tests. This event was part of the nationwide observances that mark this significant day in Pakistan’s history.
In his message, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor of the University of Swat, stated that we are committed to fostering an environment that nurtures innovation, scientific inquiry, and a deep sense of patriotism. The seminar and awareness walk organized today are part of our efforts to educate and inspire our students about the critical importance of science and technology in national development. Dr. Sarfaraz Khan, (Assistant Professor of Pakistan Studies at the University of Swat) was the resource person of the seminar. Dr. Sarfaraz discussed the historical context of Youm-e-Takbeer, the significance of nuclear deterrence for Pakistan’s national security, and the scientific achievements that made the nuclear tests possible.
The event organizer Dr. Imran (Assistant Professor of Sociology, and In-Charge, Department of Social and Gender Studies, University of Swat) thanked the Hon. Vice Chancellor and other participants for participating in the seminar and awareness walk.
