Visit of the Chief Coordination Officer, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (KPCECVE) to University of Swat on August 22, 2023
Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan, Chief Coordination Officer at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (KPCECVE) paid an official visit to the University of Swat and met the Vice Chancellor, University of Swat (Prof. Dr Hassan Sher, SAARC Gold Medalist). The meeting was also attended by the Focal Person, Youth Development Centre (Dr. Imran, Assistant Professor of Sociology & Head, Department of Social and Gender Studies, UoS).
The meeting’s agenda focused on exploring potential collaboration between the Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and University of Swat. It was mutually agreed upon that initially the Department of Social and Gender Studies, UoS and Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will jointly organize a national conference and subsequently an international conference to combat the issue pertaining to the violence and extremism. Besides, collaboration for capacity building, public awareness & engagement, exchange of expertise etc. will also be materialized in the near future. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher (Vice Chancellor) expressed his appreciation for the initiatives taken by the KPCECVE and also pledged his full institutional support to the KPCECVE for making the students an agent of bringing positive change in society. Dr. Muhammad Ayaz also thanked the Vice Chancellor and his team for extending support and cooperation.
