Under the umbrella of the Society for the Promotion of Social Sciences, Social Welfare and Awareness, University of Swat Celebrated 76th Independence Day on August 14, 2023 here at Main Campus, Charbagh.
The day started with the name of Allah followed by Guard of Honor by University Security Guards (10 in number) and Flag hoisting.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor, University of Swat along with Prof. Dr. Fazal Mabood (Dean), Mr. Imtiaz Ali (Registrar, UoS), Mr. Fayyaz Ahmed Khan (Treasurer), Heads of Teaching & Administrative units, Faculty members and students were in attendance. In his speech Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher shed light on the importance of Independence Day. He emphasized on the roles and responsibilities of the students, faculty and staff in the development of Pakistan. University of Swat under the leadership of the Honorable Vice Chancellor is striving for the development and prosperity of the country through education, he added.
The Hon. Vice Chancellor applauded the efforts made by the organizers Dr. Imran (Assistant Professor of Sociology & In-Charge, Department of Social and Gender Studies, UoS), Mr. Fida Hussain (Provost), Dr. Hazrat Bilal (Director Administration, UoS). Further, on this occasion Dr. Lutfullah (Associate Professor and Chairperson, Law and Sharia) and Dr. Sarfaraz Khan (Assistant Professor and In-Charge, Pakistan Studies) highlighted the contributions of our forefathers in the Independence movement of our beloved country Pakistan.
During the program Ms. Tanzeela Abdul Qayyum (BS Sociology student) presented national songs. The Program ended with the Cake cutting ceremony. The participants chanted the slogans of Pakistan Zinadabad/Pakistan Paindabad and pledged for continuous day and night efforts for the uplift and development of Pakistan.
