51st meeting of the Syndicate

51st meeting of the Syndicate University of Swat was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor, University of Swat. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari (Nominee of Chairman HEC), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Swati (Nominee of the Chancellor/Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Justice Retd: Muhammad Nasir Mehfooz (Nominee of Peshawar High Court), Secretary Higher Education, Secretary Establishment and Secretary Finance were represented by officers of their respective departments, while other members of the syndicate included Deans, elected faculty and administrative officers of the University of Swat.
The meeting discussed various issues and several important decisions were made, which will have a transformative impact on the overall affairs of the university. The Syndicate, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, displayed a collective commitment to fostering an environment of growth, innovation, and quality education.
Among the key decisions taken during the meeting were the following:
1. Approval of the Minutes/Recommendations of the 21st meeting of the Finance & Planning Committee
2. Approval of the Minutes/Recommendations of the 26th Meeting of the Service Procurement Committee
3. Approval of the Minutes/Recommendations of the 36th Meeting of the Technical Review Committee
4. Approval for implementation of Draft Accommodation Allotment rules 2023
5. Establishment of two new Students Societies (i)Peace Society / Peace Club (ii)Character building Society
6. Adoption of HEC online and distance learning (ODL) policy
7. Draft University of Swat Semester System Regulations (2022 onward)
8. Approval for Launching MS degree program in the discipline of Forensic Sciences
9. Approval for Signing Memorandum of Understanding/Cooperation with Organizations (within Pakistan):
(a)Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (ICUPSS)
(b) Department of Archaeology & Museums, Govt. of Pakistan, Islamabad
(c) Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Peshawar
10. Approval for Signing Memorandum of Understanding with Organizations (outside Pakistan)
(a)US-based Firm CCIXER inc. USA
(b) China Volant Industry Co. Ltd. and Beijing Aerospace Titan Technology Co. Ltd
11. Revisiting/Reviewing the proposed University of Swat Statutes, 2021
12. Implementation of the following rules framed under section-31(2) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities Act 2012 (amended up to date):
(i) University of Swat rules for Age Relaxation in the upper age limit for Recruitment, 2022.
(ii)University of swat rules for appointment against deceased employee Quota, 2022
(iii) University of swat Administrative Officers Promotion rules, 2022
(iv) University of Swat Support Staff Promotion & Pay Scale Rules, 2022
