World Environment Day Celebrated by Office of the Social Work Program


June 5 is marked by the United Nations as World Environment Day, a day set aside since 1974 to promote “worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment.”

On June 05, 2018, Office of the Social Work Program, University of Swat organized awareness session for the students of Sociology, Department of Social and Gender Studies (DS&GS), Main Campus, Sector-D, Kanju Township University of Swat (UoS).

Mr. Imran, Lecturer in Sociology & In-Charge, DS&GS and Social Work Program, UoS shed light on the importance of the World Environment Day in connection with the 2018 theme i.e. beating plastic pollution.

Mr. Basit Ali, Visiting Faculty at DS&GS also explained different aspects of environmental degradation and strategies for keeping the environment green. He thanked Mr. Imran for celebrating World Environment Day and providing a platform for boosting student’s confidence.
