Two Days Training Workshop on Youth Action for Peaceful Election

Office of the Social Work Program, University of Swat in Collaboration with Bargad organized a two day training workshop on “Youth Action for Peaceful Election” held on June 11-12, 2018 at PTCL Campus, Kanju Township University of Swat (UoS).

Mr. Imran, Lecturer in Sociology & In-Charge, DS&GS and Social Work Program, UoSwas the Focal Person / Chief Organizer of the training. Ms. Sabeeha Shaheen, Executive Director, Bargad, Lahore, Mr. Iqbal Butt (Consultant, Bargad), Mr. UsmanAkhtar, Project Coordinator, Bargad and Mr. Imran were the key resource persons of the training. Ms. Sabiha added that youth constitutes major chunk of the population and they are the future leaders. Proper guidance is needed to youth for unveiling their hidden potentials for societal development particularly to bring awareness in community regarding peaceful elections in the country.

The participant students were involved in brain storming sessions and also assigned different tasks. They presented their innovative ideas about the activities regarding “Youth Action for Peaceful Election” whereas the best among them will further be showcased in the upcoming mega event to be held in July 2018 at Islamabad wherein different Universities of the country will participate.

Mr. Nasir Shaheen (Assistant Professor), Director, Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), University of Swat was the Chief Guest in the closing ceremony of the training. He congratulated the students for their active participation in the training. He further added that efforts of Office of the Social Work Program and Bargad are really appreciable because arranging such type of eventsis need of the hour and students can disseminate this message in a better way to the community for keeping the peaceful environment particularly in the elections.

Mr. Imran during his closing remarks thanked the Chief Guest (Mr. Nasir Shaheen), the Executive Director (Ms. Sabeeha), Mr. Usman and the Bargad team. The Chief Guest distributed certificates amongst the participants of the training.
