Poets enthralled young participants through their poetic pieces at Pashto mushaira held in the PTCL Hall of University of Swat under the auspices of SUVASTU Literary Society here on
Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Around 21 poets’ students from different departments participated in the event. Most of the poets sprinkled, romance, humour, satire and irony through their imagery to enthral the audience. Vice Chancellor University of Swat, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jamal Khan, Registrar, Zahid Ullah, Provost Dr. Fazal Rabi, deputy provost Mr.Sagher Ahamd and faculty members were among the attendees. Prof. Bakhtzada Danish, Prof. Attur Rehman Atta, Fazal Subhan Afghani, Rizwanullah Shamal
and Faiz Ali Khan Faiz acted as judges.
In Poetry competition Waheedullah Qaraar, student of department of Media & Communication Studies declared Poet of Campus by getting first position in poetry while Tufail Ahmad Malal student of department of Media & Communication Studies and Mujtaba Kamal, department of Biotechnology got second while Najeebullah Afghan student of department of Media & Communication Studies received third position in poetry contest. Appreciation certificates, Shields along cash money were distributed among best participants of the contest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jamal Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Swat presided over the contest. He also said that literary activities on the campus provided a platform to the young students to wake up their creative sense. He added that of all such events, poetry sessions could best help sharpen the imaginative flight of the students and also invited their attention to a brilliant aspect of life.
Mr. Zahid Ullah. Registrar University of Swat said that the Society had been conducting literary activities in the campus to instill a critical sense among young students. Mr. Sajjad Ali, Organizer SUVASTU Literary Society and Lecturer in Media & Communication Studies, said such gatherings brought together students and teachers at place where they could socialize in a friendly manner. He pointed out that literary activities on the campus gave a new spirit to students to think positively and contribute to the society through their talent and hard work.
