Dr Jehan Bakht has done his PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom. He has done his post doctoral research from the University of California USA, University of Milan, Italy, University of Rosario Argentina and University of Glasgow in UK. Currently heading the Division of Recombinant DNA and Nanotechnology in the University of Agriculture Peshawar, he is also a US Fulbright scholar. He was awarded the best university teacher award in 2014 by the Higher Education Commission. He was awarded the productive scientist award for consecutive four years in 2011, 12, 13 and 2014 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Islamabad. Dr Jehan Bakht was given Research and Development Award 2015 by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
He has authored five books. Besides, he has published 93 research papers in Impact Factor international journal. He has published 82 research papers in the HEC recognised journals and completed seven national and international research projects. The new VC Swat University has supervised and awarded 28 PhD degrees and 93 MPhil degrees.
Born in Khar, Batkhela in the Malakand district, Dr Jehan Bakht received his schooling in the local middle school and did his matriculation from Government High School Batkhela. He completed his intermediate from the Islamia College Peshawar. He did his BSc and MSc honours from the University of Agriculture Peshawar.
